Plot 1 nearing completion!

Plot 1 is nearing completion as the sanitaryware and kitchen start to go in, also preparation for the flooring and carpets has started. The decoration is almost complete and the internal doors and second fix items are well underway.

External works are soon to start on the paving and soft landscaping which will be very exciting to see.

The house should be fully complete in readyness for the launch of the site which should be end of March, and this will be opened as a showhome. Viewings will be strictly by appointment.

We will post some pictures of the finished internals as soon as the work has been completed.

Also very encouraging has been the efficiency of this unit now the heating system is operational, we have had to keep turning it down as the house has been too warm!!! It is really encouraging that after all the research and development of systems and methods of construction that the fabric of this home works so well, and the MVHR ensures that the house is uniformly warm in every area, there are no cold spots! This will be a very comfortable home.

These computer generated images have just been completed and illustrate the finished product we will shortly be offering for sale, they also show some of the high quality finishings we are using such as, Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware, Grohe taps, Vicaima veneered oak doors, Valli and Valli ironmongery, the list goes on but hopefully the images show the very high level of quality and exclusivity these properties will display.

Scaffolding comes down on Plot 1

The scaffolding is now coming down on Plot 1 and you can now start to see the home emerging! The render looks fabulous, and all the details start to take shape and the sum of all the parts creates this contemporary architecture of great design and quality.

See the image below detailing the roof material against the verge detail against the ventilation and render, the culmination of all these materials in the ‘HerefordHaus’ system.

The architecture becomes clearer as the form of this house becomes apparent. We chose not to follow the normal ‘pastiche’ route but rather to utilise modern materials and design in a rural contemporary way, creating a clean modern look that is both sympathetic and practical.

Build progressing well

Work is progressing well at Cradley and Plot One is really starting to take shape. We have the renderers on site this week, they are true artisans and the render system is looking great as seen in the pictures. Also we have the flashings going on the dormers, which gives a crisp detail to the roofline. Complimenting this is the Lindab gutter which is also going on and again we think compliments the palette of materials on these rural contemporary homes.

Our vision is emerging well, this is modern architecture with its roots firmly in the traditional, but built to a very new super energy efficient methodology. The specialist timber boarding is due in from France within the next fortnight, and when starts to go on the look of the home will really start to shine. Watch this space!

Cedar Shingles and Triple glazed Roof windows

The roof covering is complete now on Plot 1, and the Fakro triple glazed roof windows are installed and looking wonderful. The shingles have a very organic and beautifully natural look which we think will compliment the contemporary style of the homes well. The shingles are a very practical roof covering with a long guarantee and offer a reliable ecologically sound building product with great aesthetics.

IE Developments selects Allan Brothers for their new eco super energy efficient housing development in Cradley.

‘Allan Brothers supplied us the solution for the high quality, super high performance windows and doors requirements for this project, the goals we set with the AECB Silver standard meant that the option of using standard mainstream fenestration was not on the table’ said Stuart Speight of IE Developments.

The new Elite 92 triple glazed window system has been chosen, which offer large sliding doors which will pass the stringent air tightness requirements of the PassivHaus system.
